Cottages in the Woods
Our cottages provide the quintessential Southern Illinois cottage in the woods experience.
In addition to our Inn Suites, we have three cottages. The cottages were built with straw bale walls and an earthen plaster finish (using clay, sand and straw) to create a beautiful interior and exterior wall. They also use timber framing with local, sustainably harvested lumber. And to top it all of, they have living roofs – yes with grass and plants growing up there. This organic design leaves no want for comfort as each cottage has all the amenities, including a heavenly king-size beds with 600-thread-count linens. Not to mention, the bathroom is supplied with luxurious towels, a soaking tub, and wet room shower.
The design of all our cottages are all about comfortable, cozy, efficient layouts. They are the perfect place to unplug, unwind, and relax. The natural surroundings creates an incredibly peaceful setting.
Indigo Cottage
Facing the woods, Indigo is a private 2-story accommodation. With tons of natural lighting throughout, both floors walk out onto a balcony/patio giving the entire space a natural inside-out feel. Additionally, you will find local artisan-crafted pieces such as the bed frame, vanity and spiral staircase.
The luxurious king-size bed faces out into the woods. Also, you will find a wet-floor shower and soaking tub also located on the top level. The lower level includes a sitting area and kitchenette.
West End Cottage
The West End Cottage is our largest cottage. It is set into the hillside and is build with straw bale walls and a living roof providing incredible sound and climate insulation. Each bedroom and the living area has its own heat and air conditioning unit to keep it at just the right temperature for your comfort.
Both bedrooms have king size beds with a full size bathroom. The beds feature the same heavenly pillow top beds with 600-thread-count linens.
