Must-Try Winter Wines

In closing, here are some great winter wines to try at Blue Sky Vineyard:

  • Chambourcin Reserve 2015 (Double Gold Medal @ 2019 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition): This estate-grown bottled wine is aged in French and American oak for two years. It is a complex, big and aromatic wine with a solid tannin structure and rich berry flavors and aromas. A great match for hearty beef stews and warm winter dishes
  • Rosé: Floral and fruity aromas of roses, watermelon, and strawberry give this rose’ a nice balance of tannins and acidity. This rosé is a great example of the quality of fruit and wine that can be produced in the Shawnee Hills. Gold Medal at 2018 California Rosé Wine Experience. It’s not just a summer wine, our Rosé is perfect for nights by the fireplace or for enjoying with any meal.
  • Cream Sherry: Estate Grown Rich aromas of butterscotch and almonds complement this deliciously, sweet sherry with nuances of toffee and a creamy finish. The perfect pair with bread pudding, one of our favorite comfort foods. Governor’s Cup Winner @ 2019 Illinois State Fair Wine Competition.
